Interest in all things ‘natural’ is increasing. The words health, healing, wellbeing and spirituality are common place. Self-awareness and development are the order of the day and personal responsibility by way of your carbon footprint is a reality that’s here to stay. Fuel prices, mobile phones, the internet and satellite communication are all rocketing as too are the vast numbers of people ‘coincidentally’ embarking on a ‘Journey’, looking for their ‘Path’ their ‘Life purpose’.
What’s missing? Where’s the connection? Or is it connection itself that’s missing? Not connection of the technological but connection of the loving, trusting, honest friendship kind. What if it IS loving friendship that’s missing? That means we can’t buy it, retail therapy can’t help us, so where does that leave us? How and where do we find the type of connection, enlightenment and inspiration we’re searching for? Welcome to Equamigo.
What is Equamigo?
- Equamigo is a healing, learning and development Centre founded by empathic healer, intuitive communicator and horse whisperer Helen Wingstedt. It’s a ‘sanctuary’ for people and horses, a peaceful place to visit and somewhere to rest, relax and rejuvenate.
- Equamigo is a Centre that offers ground based Courses and Experiences that educate, enlighten, energise and inspire. Guests can choose to learn about themselves, learn how to heal and communicate with animals using natural and manual methods or simply enjoy an Experience that increases wellbeing.
- Equamigo allows you to answer the call of the ‘wild’, to ‘reconnect’ with the natural world. It is a place for you to rediscover the best parts of yourself and to confidently share them with the people, horses and other animals around you.
- Equamigo is a way of being. Trust, honesty, freedom of expression, generosity, compassion, courage, kindness, loving and acceptance in Friendship are the principles upon which Equamigo is founded.
- Equamigo is home to the ‘Healing Herd’ who live as natural a life as possible for domesticated horses. It is a place where horses are helped and healed by people and where horses help and heal people in return.
- Equamigo makes it possible for people to enjoy watching a herd in action. It provides opportunities to learn and practice the art of herdsmanship which involves understanding a horse’s mind, clearly communicating through thought, intention, energy and physical action and responding to feedback in ways that are fair, sensitive, firm and appropriate that build trust and willingness to co-operate in friendship.
- The Equamigo Approach to horsemanship is available to all who wish to learn how to create deep bonds of trust by understanding and being understood. The Approach shows those who wish to know ways of caring for horses that encourage the revealing of the personality.
- Equamigo combines the best of traditional horsemanship and veterinary techniques with the best of modern and ancient complementary methods to produce optimum health, wellbeing and performance. It includes the use of aromatherapy/essential oils, herbs, massage, shiatsu, kinesiology, homoeopathy and 5 Sense therapy.
- Equamigo is a half-way healing home for racehorses who are being retired. A chance for those who are injured or have problems that require extended recovery periods to rest and rehabilitate before being retrained and found suitable, loving homes.
- Equamigo is an organisation that is working towards being a registered charitable Trust, to allow anyone the chance to enjoy the Equamigo Experience. The Centre, the vision, the concept, the ideals, the opportunity that Equamigo presents is reliant on volunteers, donations and sponsorship as well as income from visits, courses and experiences.
“The world is literally changing; humanity’s present and it’s future,
like it’s past, is bound with that of the Horse”
